PMT is deliberately open-ended, but the useful starting point is always the same: choose one operational result worth knowing and give it a direct path to be seen or used.
These examples show common ways that pattern can be applied.
Start with the problem, not the category.

Operational visibility without collecting everything
These examples are strongest where the useful result is specific and the surrounding monitoring machinery would otherwise be noisy, fragmented or disproportionate.
LOW-NOISE MONITORING
Keep a small set of selected operational results separate from broad monitoring noise.
BACKUP & JOB RESULTS
See whether an unattended backup, scheduled task or cron job produced the intended result — and when the expected result stops arriving.
BRANCH & REMOTE SITES
Use small outbound check-ins for selected conditions at remote or constrained locations without needing another control plane.
Selected results can come from very different places
The source may be an application, script, scheduled process, external checker or device. PMT does not require them to share the same management system.
EXTERNAL & END-TO-END
Bring in results from independent external checkers or final-destination receivers when internal health alone cannot prove the real outcome.
MONITORING WITHOUT ANOTHER AGENT
Send selected results outward from scripts, jobs, applications or devices without adding another persistent management/control agent.

All of these examples use the same basic PMT model: source → selected result → PMT → authorised view or read path.
